fourteen male nine female
Full length - three act
Drama
The 1930 film version starring Greta Garbo had minor alterations by a continuity editor. This play was notable for it's London run of 1049 performances. Sheldon wrote a dozen full length plays that were published and performed, but some of his works have vanished, few have been digitally preserved (see below).
Synopsis: Bishop Armstrong is summoned, by the family, to warn Harry away from an impulsive alliance with a glamorous actress. Harry is not convinced until the Bishop reveals how his own early romance with a show-girl turned sour on the question of fidelity. There is intrigue, suspense and humour as the story unfolds.
