Keeping up appearances; a farce in one act (1919) two male, one female One Act Comedy Simple and Spooky with room for slapstick. In their youth, sailor friends Silas and Bill make a death pact on the high seas. The scene takes place years later. Mrs Butenshaw is unhappily married to the hard drinking Bill when Silas turns up for a loan. She and Silas do a deal in which Silas gives a ghostly warning for Bill to mend his ways. In exchange, Mrs Burtenshaw is promised enough allowance to make the loan.
