Doctor Zhivago

I saw Doctor Zhivago last Saturday night. I had previosly spent an intense eight week period making some of the major props for the production and assisting in minor prop adjustments. It was wonderful to see everything in context on stage. Anthony Warlow was mesmerising (as always!) and Lucy Maunder a delight. The production is clean and classy with great sound and deserves to do well. Having not seen the film (mea culpa, mea culpa!) I had no preconceptions and had a memorable night at the theatre. I'm looking forward to "Turns" next week. Reg Livermore is one of the true theatrical icons of our generation and I'm looking forward to his vision of performers near the end of their lives (careers?). It will be a bitter/sweet experience I expect with some wicked one liners!
