Director in Despair. The Sequel

Well, Its 29 days till we open and I have finally got off the phone from talking to an actor who I am confident will stay the course. Since my original post we have had very little luck except we had a replacement for 1 day who then suddenly decided he was busy. Never mind I'm there. Why do we have to woo actors these days? It seems that men who can act have to be courted by Directors to do shows. This could simply be the frustration of the last two weeks showing through but I almost felt like I was being asked to sweeten the pie by offering extras to actors who deigned to talk to me. Never mind, I have two very good plays I can do next year that have no men in them at all.
