The Actors Studio Australia 2 Day Intensive Acting Workshop - Brisbane - May 15th & 16th 2010 Study the dynamic new technique that will revolutionise your approach to performance and arm you with the skills to take your career to the next level. The Actors Studio Australia's unique, powerful approach draws together techniques from international master teachers including Sanford Meisner (The Meisner Technique), Lee Strasberg (The Method) & Constantin Stanislavsky. Our step by step approach equips students to harness the raw power of real emotion, personal life experience and honest communication to create a vivid sense of truth on stage or screen. Over 2 intensive days students will explore the notion of working truthfully in the moment with their fellow actor, seeking to create a deep, personal connection to both scene and scene partner. A combination of exercises will be used to ground participants in an immediate moment of truth, to develop a connection between imagination and emotion and to eradicate bad habits such as "indicating", pretending, falsifying emotion etc. Students will experience our powerful 10 Step Scene Analysis Tool and the workshop will culminate with the performance of short scripted duologue scene providing the opportunity to apply skills learned over the 2 days to a short performance. Each participant will receive an appraisal of the work performed and advice on what they should focus on in terms of developing their craft and career. TEACHER - Clarence White - Founder & Studio Director of The Actors Studio Australia and the principal architect of the studio's groundbreaking approach. Clarence has over 10 years teaching experience and is one of Australia's leading specialists in the techniques of Stanislavsky, Strasberg and Meisner.
