The Actors Studio Australia's unique, powerful approach to acting draws together techniques from international master teachers including Sanford Meisner (The Meisner Technique), Lee Strasberg (The Method), Constantin Stanislavsky and others. Our step by step approach equips students to harness the raw power of real emotion, personal life experience and honest communication to create a vivid sense of truth on stage or screen. Over 2 intensive days students will explore the notion of working truthfully in the moment with their fellow actor, seeking to create a deep, personal connection to both scene and scene partner. A combination of exercises will be used to ground participants in an immediate moment of truth, to develop a connection between imagination and emotion and to eradicate bad habits such as "indicating", pretending, falsifying emotion etc. Students will experience our powerful 10 Step Scene Analysis Tool and the workshop will culminate with the performance of short scripted duologue scene providing the opportunity to apply skills learned over the 2 days to a short performance. Each participant will receive an appraisal of the work performed and advice on what they should focus on in terms of developing their craft and career.
