The first Matinee!
Thursday 26 April 2007
Well today we launched into the first performance of our production of Disney's High School Musical.
AND IT WAS FANTASTIC!
It was a matinee performance for the students of our school- grades4,5,6,7,8,9 and they all seemed to have a ball!
We waited in the wings for 20 minutes as the last bus was running very late...and we ended up going on stage before they had arrived.
I was incredibly surprised at how well the performance went. (To be honest from our last full dress rehearsal I would have said we weren't ready) however I take back all those thoughts as the energy and behaviour of the cast improved immensly!
Still some things to polish before tonights first showing to the public but I think we're gonna have another great show tonight.
We got lots of applause and quite a few laughs, which is great. The play script has a lot of jokes geared toward an adult audience so we missed those laughs but the physical gags got the younger kids excited and there were quite a few lines that had people in stitches!
I can't wait for tonight!
WOOT!
I love this feeling!
