CRAZY FOR YOU is the story of Bobby Child, a 1930's New York playboy whose dream in life is to dance. He is sent to Deadrock, Nevada by his domineering mother, and soon-to-be ex-fiancee, to foreclose a mortgage on a dormant theatre. In Deadrock, Bobby falls in love with Polly Baker, the only girl in this Western mining town, and finds the opportunity to make his dream a reality.
A "new" Gershwin musical comedy, Crazy For You was the quintessential musical - one where everybody sings, everybody dances and where anything on hand is used to make music. The plot was nothing new, having been adapted from the 1930s musical, Girl Crazy, and with an additional 13 songs.
Songs include ‘Slap That Bass’ ‘They Can’t Take That Away From Me’, ‘Embraceable You’, ‘Naughty Baby’, ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’ and ‘I Got Rhythm’.
Crazy For You has all the ingredients of a Broadway Musical. An energetic cast, a touch of outrageously funny humour, colourful costumes, great scenery and one of the best musical scores of the century. Crazy for You is an all singing all dancing extravaganza - who could ask for anything more?
