DO YOU want a sure way to warm up on these cold winter nights?
MATES believe the best way to fight the winter chills is to have good laugh and a good time, and what better way to do both than to book your seat at their mid-year production of the comedy-thriller “Ghostwriter” by David Tristram.
Ruby Pinfold was a talented, yet tempestuous actress with a reputation for burning the candle at all three ends until one night she is found dead after an overdose of naughty pills and booze.
Was it suicide? Or was Ruby the victim of elaborate foul-play?
Following her death the world of theatre went into a state of mourning which lasted barely into the afternoon.
Twelve months after RubyÂ’s death her husband Edward, himself a budding playwright, remains deeply affected and has moved into the attic room of one of his oldest friends, Alex, who just happens to be gay.
Now this may well have nothing to do with anything – but then again it might!
MATES bring to their audience this story on the first anniversary of the death of Ruby Pinfold; may she rest in peace.
“Ghostwriter” is coming to the MATES stage Saturday July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th, and Friday, July 22nd commencing at 7:00pm at the home of MATES the Birkdale School of Arts, Birkdale Road at Birkdale.
An evening with MATES is a complete nights entertainment; included in the cost of admission is a light supper at interval and a licensed bar operates with a small selection of reasonably priced beverages.
Group booking are encouraged, however patrons are asked to make any large bookings early to avoid disappointment as tickets to MATES productions always sell quickly.
Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $12 for OAPs and Tables of ten or more are $12.
