The Western Australian Youth Theatre Company presents 'The Golden Age' by Louis Nowra, directed by Jenny Davis.
Gerry Turcotte in his Introduction to 'The Golden Age' writes: "In 1939, lost tribe of white Europeans was apparently discovered in the Tasmanian wilderness. These nineteenth-century emigres suffered from serious genetic malformations, and the Australian government, fearing their condition could be used by Nazi propagandists, secreted the tribe in an asylum pending the end of the war. They did not survive the internment..."
...except for one, in Louis Nowra's dramatisation of this intriguing - and true - story.
WAYTCo continues a proud tradition of high-quality youth theatre with its next offering running for four performances only 20-23 March 2002 at the Playhouse Theatre on Pier Street, Perth. WAYTCo shows sell out fast, so watch this space for booking details.
Bookings open mid-February.
