Lewis is a young director out to prove his mettle and
leaps at the opportunity to direct a play with inmates at
a mental asylum.Roy wants to do his favourite Mozart
opera Cosi Fan Tutte , but his fellow inmates are not
enthused.Ruth is trouble by the concept of a ‘real
illusion Â’. Zac insists on playing Wagner or falling asleep.
Henry keeps getting up and walking out.
But Roy insists they must create the “harmony of
spheres"that is to dispel the “clanging,banging,...
bedlam all around us."Lewis Â’world at home is its own
kind of bedlam where he has to contend with escaping
pigs,exploding beer bottles and the pretensions of his
‘politically correct ’friends.Cosi takes an affectionate
look at madness and mayhem in a world where
institutions can be less limiting than ideology.
