Judith, Lydia, Meridee and Hester are old friends who
meet for the first time in years in an expensive piece
of real estate in the Blue Mountains. Meridee Â’s brilliant,
wealthy and famous husband Alec is dead. They are
gathered in her house, in the ghostly chill of Alec Â’s study,
where his expensive computer still runs its program
evolving artificial life forms.
The wine is flowing, commiserations shared and nervous
jokes crackle in an atmosphere charged with
apprehension. The relationships with each other,and
with Alec,are shrouded in mystery. When buried secrets
suddenly erupt to raise issues about fidelity ,his sudden
demise and the inheritance he has left. Their world
becomes immersed in a cauldron of deception, intrigue
and blackmail that fuels an extraordinary solution to
the problem.
