When you¹re the smallest kid in town you feel like, well, like jack playing with a bunch of giants. But when you discover folk even smaller than you, well you¹re the giant, only a small one, right? Everything is upside down and back to front in this fascinating story about what it takes to be a giant. Does it really all come down to size? This is exactly what young jack asks as she journeys to the city to make it BIG in the land of corporate
giants.

Inspired by the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and other giant tales, this is an exciting physical puppetry production where folktale and fantasy get mixed up in this unusual and funny show for the whole family.

Created and directed by Janet Lee and Nigel Luck with fellow performers Kingsley Judd and Chris Williams and composer, Petro Vouris, Small Giants mixes folktale and fantasy inspired by Jack & the Beanstalk and other David and Goliath type tales.

It¹s a cracked tale all right, not only upside down but back to front as Jack, a very small girl, plans on making it big in the land of corporate giants. On her quest to discover if size matters she encounters a fantasy world where nothing is ever what it seems. A world where a suit has no wearer, a newspaper wrestles its reader and other objects, clearly with minds of their own, dish out attitude big time!

Utilising physical theatre, song and dance, acting skills and a range of puppetry from shadow, object and hand held to giant costume puppets, the highly inventive and unconventional Strange Arrangements, an award winner at the 2000 WA Fringe Festival, takes a high-octane look at the hot issue of
size.

Created and directed by Nigel Luck and Janet Lee. Puppetry Dramaturge/co-devisor: Michael Barlow. Performers/co-devisors: Kingsley Judd, Janet Lee, Nigel Luck, Chris Williams
Composition: Petro Vouris Lighting Design: Mike Nanning
