A no frills production by 2nd Year Theatre Students
Matinees at 4pm evening performances at 8pm.
An experience in music theatre and deals with the hypocrisy of evangelical fundamentalist religion in Act I. Act II takes a jaundiced look at politics. The play begins in America in the late 1800's and culminates in Australia during the turbulent formation of the Federal Government.
It is the story of the Texan idealist who became a member of two Australian Parliaments and was defeated in 1917 for opposing conscription - this play made stage history when produced in 1970, drawing upon the vaudeville tradition and creating a new all-Australian larrikin form.
