AddressCreswick Town Hall theatre
This musical comedy story follows the 1851 journey of ambitious young Englishman, John Cranston, and his older, disreputable mining partners, Joe Hoyle and Ben Needham, as they arrive at Creswick's Creek to stake a claim.
John meets young English girl Mary Blake, recently arrived from the homeland with her father, just as John and his partners are setting up their prospecting claim.
Mary, a teacher, has hopes of starting a small school at Creswick Creek's camp.
There's no doubt about the attraction forming between ambitious John and sweet Mary, that is, until John and his partners hit the motherlode.
Life threatening treachery, ambition and betrayal create the comic drama that follows.
