The Hostage is a rollicking, bawdy comedy, laced with Irish wit and full of outrageous characters - a fascinating mixture of satire and tragedy, song and dance.
It is 1960. Irish rebels kidnap a young British soldier and hold him hostage in a Dublin brothel, where he begins a romance with the young Irish girl who befriends him. As his time runs out, the colourful inhabitants of the old house take him under their wing. Even with the world falling about their ears, it's never too late for a song, a jig, or one more round...
