Jesus Christ Superstar is a monument in musical history. A rock opera released in October 1970 amongst much controversy, it has since been performed and revived in countries all over the world and with much success. The narrative centres around the last seven days of Jesus of NazarethÂ’s life, as seen through the eyes of one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot. Themes of friendship, loyalty and redemptive love echo throughout the show; making it as relevant and as timeless as ever.
Jesus Christ Superstar will be staged at Monash University's Alexander Theatre (Clayton Campus) 10 – 13 August 2005.
Directed and choreographed by Roman Berry and musically directed by Tony Toppi, this much loved musical will once again come to life. MUMCO has put together a talented production team and a high-energy cast to match; the combination of which is bound to leave audiences shouting for more.
