Details
The Port Macquarie Festival One Act Plays is a little like a film festival, it consists of entries from all over Australia and New Zealand, performing one act plays at least 20 mins in length, of various genres.
The plays start at 10:00am on Saturday and run through in sessions until Sunday afternoon finishing with the Awards Presentation at 2.00pm.
They compete for cash prizes which are allocated by our Adjudicator at the end of the festival.
The adjudicator for this year’s festival will be Sean Hall. Since graduating from NIDA, Sean has acted in theatre and films. Film work includes performances in Australia, The Illusionist, and The Road from Coorain. He represented NIDA at the UNESCO/ITI Festival in Romania, performing in Romeo and Juliet and The Oresteia. Sean was Assistant Director on Vivaldi’s Judith Triumphans and Hadyn’s Orpheus & Euridice for Pinchgut Opera. He directed The Hypochondriac for NIDA Young Actors Studio and co-directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream as part of NIDA’s 50th anniversary celebrations. In 2010 Sean wrote and directed Across the Story Bridge performed at the Parade Theatre.
