Is the Internet taking over your life?
This Western Australian premiere by award winning writer Lally Katz confronts us with a time when the Internet is taking over the world.
‘What the nonbelievers don’t understand, is that this was bound to happen…You can’t have that many people putting energy into it, dreaming into it, searching through it-living through it-and not have it take up some sort of space…But then, like every force in existence, I suppose it got greedy….’
Mid-2013, 17 incredibly talented actors under 27 portray a whole town in the midst of a civil war at the Dolphin Theatre, UWA. Threatened with a complete takeover by the Internet the residents form a resistance movement.
In this play, Fear, Faith and Obsession tangle as science and spirituality confront. It’s head vs heart, thought vs emotion, machine vs God in a winner-takes-all conflict that threatens to tear the world in two.
