G Presented by Perth Theatre Trust, State Theatre Centre and Australian Dance Theatre Garry Stewart is one of the world’s best known choreographers. He redefined Swan Lake into the wry and action packed Birdbrain, which went on to become Australia’s most performed contemporary dance work. And now he completely reinvents the ballet Giselle with G. Fusing the technical prowess of classical ballet with explosive choreography, the eleven formidable dancers of Australian Dance Theatre embody the central themes of hysteria, vulnerability, desire, gender, death and the afterlife. The dancers’ powerful athleticism and deconstructed classicism is accompanied by a thrilling and haunting electronic musical score that drives the work forward at a phenomenal pace, and a hovering panorama of LED screens to reconfigure the original ballet, its story and themes. Having already toured extensively throughout Europe G returns for an exclusive Australian tour in 2013. State Theatre Centre 174 William St, Perth Four Performances Only!
