The 39 Steps

KADS forthcoming production is “The 39 Steps”, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the iconic movie of Alfred Hitchcock.

Fast-paced and furious fun, the cast of five actors play all the characters as they attempt to tell the story of counter-espionage, murder, a man fleeing for his life, train chases, moor chases and a budding innocent love-affair.
This play has won, among others, two Tony awards, an Olivier award and ran for over 771 performances on Broadway alone. The talented and highly experienced cast comprises of Adrian Wood as the hapless Richard Hannay, Claire Taylor as the beautiful Pamela, Aundraea Stevens, Paul Treasure and Adrian Lewis play all the other parts.
The director, Terry Hackett, is no stranger to the KADS stage and is loving the challenge of this play. Terry is the winner of three Finlay awards for Best Director, (Same Time Next Year, Nunsense, and Barmaids) and featured in Finlay Award Winning Play (Nuts, directed by Joe Isaia). Terry is very proud and grateful to have two talented people working with her – Anita Bound (winner of Best Play with Johnny Belinda) and Sandra Sando,(best remembered for Shirley Valentine).

The 39 Steps runs on: Wed, Fri and Sat from Feb 22nd - Mar 16th with two Sunday matinees at 2:00pm on 24th Feb and 10th Mar. .
