A fascinating insight to the early days of the Swan River Colony.
Agelink Theatre Inc is delighted to present the celebrated Dame Mary Durack’s very successful play, Swan River Saga.
This one woman play about our heritage, featuring the life of an early West Australian pioneer, Eliza Shaw, follows the fortunes of Eliza’s family from their first difficult days dumped on the beach at Fremantle to their successful farm at Belvoir on the Upper Swan, with all the joys and tribulations over 50 years of Eliza’s life.
The role of Eliza is played by Jenny Davis (Centenary Medal for services to theatre in WA) and the play is directed by Jenny McNae OAM, with lighting by Aaron Stirk, images by Simon Stokes of Media at Work and beautiful costumes created by Perth’s most experienced period costume designer (Glyndebourne, RSC), Neil Hunsley.
The production features live music of the period by accomplished violinist, Madeleine Antoine.
