Curtin’s Performance Studies and the Hayman Theatre Company are pleased to present...
HEDDA GABLER
By Henrik Ibsen, adapted by Andrew Upton
Sometimes people behave badly. Sometimes good people behave badly. Sometimes people feel they have no control. They lash out. They try and gain control: of themselves; the people around them; their environment. This production is a portrait of a woman who behaves badly; who seeks control; who fails.
This is an ugly play. Two characters see no way out of their situations. They kill themselves. Seek understanding before you judge - always.
Hayman theatre’s Artist-in-Residence and director Philip Miolin, and the Hayman Theatre Company bring this production to life in a way that is accessible to audiences of all ages, with a contemporary reimagining of Sydney Theatre Company Andrew Upton adaptation allowing Ibsen’s haunting portrait of humanity to reside in Australia in the 21st Century.
Directed by Philip Miolin.
