Three. One. Man. is a triple bill of exciting one person shows performed by three amazing
performers:
“SANE” – by Luci Klendo and Bradley Klendo, directed by Dmitri Pronin, performed by
Vlady T
Sane follows the journey of a man reeling from the impacts of a lifetime of homelessness and
abuse. Evoking humour and discomfort in audiences, this eloquent narration provides a sensitive
glimpse into the human behind the stereotype.
Vlady T is an experienced Melbourne actor, who has appeared in numerous theatre
productions, including The Grapes Of Wrath (multi – VDL Award winning production), The Worm,
The Choir and My Prescription For Enduring The End Of The World. Vlady’s TV credits include The
Pacific, Temperature’s Rising and the upcoming ABC mini-series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries.
Feature Film appearances include Any Questions For Ben?, The Wedding Party and The Dream
Children (scheduled for release later this year).
“ELIJAH” by Brian Ormsby, directed by Leigh Ormsby, performed by Billal Hassani
Elijah is the story of Elijah Upjohn, the executioner of Ned Kelly. The play is a dramatised
account of the terrors and conflicts that Upjohn faced after hanging Kelly.
Billal Hassani is an up-and-coming talent who took Melbourne Fringe Festival 2011 by storm
with a strong portrayal of the sociopathic character Max in Nice Productions’ inaugural production
Life Is Something: A Contemporary Study of Australian Society in a Context of Modern Suburbia.
Billal recently appeared in a 2012 stage adaptation of the 1985 film “The Breakfast Club” in the role
of Carl Reed. In addition to theatre, Billal has worked on numerous TV productions and short films.
Billal has studied performance at the Victoria University and is currently studying acting at Verve
Studios.
“HOW I DEFECTED FROM MOSCOW CIRCUS” – written and performed by Dmitri
Pronin, directed by Vlady T
How I Defected From Moscow Circus is a hilarious account of Dmitri’s journey to Australia
on a circus tour that resulted in him staying in this country. It is a true story of drunken elephants,
puking tigers and leather pants.
Dmitri Pronin is an internationally renowned artist. During his performing arts career in
Russia he appeared in many plays, including “Heart of a Dog” by M. Bulgakov, circus shows and
films, including “Iron Curtain”, in which he portrayed Vasily Stalin, the son of the Soviet dictator.
Since migrating to Australia, Dmitri completed the Graduate Diploma in Opera at the Victorian
College of the Arts. He pursued the career of a professional opera singer, but continued to act in
theatre, television and film, giving a powerful performance as Captain in Deeper Than Yesterday
(Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Critics’ Week award winning short film). In 2010, Dmitri took
part in Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Dmitri is the founder and creative director of
Chekhov Drama Studio, a St Kilda-based acting school that focuses on the acting system developed
by an Oscar-nominated actor Michael Chekhov.
Three. One. Man. guarantees to give a face and a story to the men you think you know.
