Harbour Theatre is delighted to present the Australian Premiere of WE’LL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS by Jill Hyem. The original writer of the hugely successful television series’ Howards Way, The House of Elliot and co-writer of Tenko returns to her theatre roots with this magical story set in the world’s most romantic city.
Three English women “of a certain age” gravitate to Paris in search of….je ne sais pas…… but perhaps, just perhaps they will find what they are looking for? There’s Nancy, a retired headmistress is determined to have a complete change of direction in her life, Anna, recently widowed…and free after years of nursing a sick husband shows there is more to her than meets the eye and then there is Rachel, a divorcee in search of eternal youth and a new toy boy!
The sole male is Charlot, an actor-turned-handyman at the beck and call of Madame Boussiron the overbearing landlady who couldn’t be anything but French.
Directed by the award winning Nicola Bond this is a feel good play with laughter and tears, the promise of romance, love, friendship, loyalty and the advantages of growing old. A play to leave you charmed, amused, thoughtful and most of all smiling!”
Featuring Jo Sterkenburg as Nancy, Kate Moulder as Anna, Grace Hitchin as Raquel, Ann Speicher as Madame Boussiron & Rob Tagliaferri as Chalot.
