There are two things to do on the weekendÂ…
Drive my car or not drive my car.

Written by the Car Stories Participants

High on the weekend leisure options for a Mount Gambier young person is chucking laps in their car and/ or doing circle work in one of the many nearby Pine Plantations.

Naturally this practice has resulted in accidents, injury and some fatalities.
The community of Mount Gambier view this practice dimly both for the danger and for the seeming lack of imagination of young people in choosing this activity over all the other on offer. But the reality for a young person in a regional town like Mount Gambier, there isnÂ’t much choice if you donÂ’t play sport.

Car Stories is a special Mainstreet initiative looking at regional youth fascination with the Motor Vehicle as a recreational tool and highlighting the lack of opportunities for recreational activities for Youth if Regional Australia if they are not active in sport.

Car Stories will involve Cross Arts workshops for young people leading up to a special performance of Car Stories
