Picton Theatre Group’s – Chemical Imbalance – a Jekyll and Hyde Play The Picton Theatre Group would like to announce their upcoming theatre production Chemical Imbalance which is a Jekyll and Hyde play written by Lauren Wilson. Written in 2009, this is the Australian Premiere of this black comedy. This play is a comic adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Victorian England is repressed and about to erupt as Dr. Jekyll's evil experiments threaten to show the true stains of the British Empire. Chemical Imbalance takes a fast paced and very funny look at the gap between aristocracy and depravity. Good verses evil in a personal tug-of-war of characterisations. When asked why he chose this play to perform with the Picton Theatre Group, the director Guenter Bieniasch said "I am always looking for a good play that will entertain and when I read Chemical Imbalance it fell straight into that category. The play has horror, drama and plenty of comedy and is a great challenge for actors and crew alike. Chemical Imbalance has never been performed in Australia so I am privileged to have the opportunity to direct this very clever play." The performance dates are: November 26th at 8pm December 3rd at 2pm and 8pm December 10th at 8pm 17th December at 2pm and 8pm. Come along for dinner before the show at 6:30pm for an additional $20.
