WAYTCo and the City of Perth Present EARTH

WA Youth Theatre Company and City of Perth present a very serious play about a very serious attempt to shed light on a very serious topic EARTH How can a group of young artists encapsulate the word Earth and everything it means into a single performance? Where should they start and where should they end? And what should they wear while they do it? Nice-going-out clothes or funky hanging-out-with-your-friends clothes or just-cleaning-the-house clothes? What about saving-the-world clothes? Can they afford matching tracksuits? Eight young performers have been writing blogs and developing alter egos for months. Now those blogs have been cut to pieces, blended up and mixed with a good dose of the truth to form a collage of post-teenage questioning that may very well be the BEST devised show the WA Youth Theatre Company will put on this Summer. Precariously pious but a little bit silly, simple in design but impossible to execute, young and full hunger, EARTH is a revelation in theatre making... or at least, it’s a play about Earth.
