Catch Mother Goose and Emily in their hilarious quest to save the people of Earth at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Sunday 9 October at 1pm.
The classic fairy tale Mother Goose gets a clever and riotously funny work over for which author and former head of the Curtin University drama department Tony Nicholls is renowned. Like all good pantomimes, there is plenty in the story for parents and children alike.
Directed by Bryce Manning, it tells the story of Va'hnilla, the testy old Ice Queen who is so sick of nasty humans she decides to destroy the Earth. But the lovely Emily persuades her to give the planet one last chance. She travels to Earth disguised as a goose that lays golden eggs in search of one good unselfish person.
So begins the annual pantomime from Wembley Theatre Company. It bubbles along with a robust mixture of mirth, mayhem and magic as every person, blinded by their lust for the shiny golden eggs, seeks to seize Emily for themselves.
That is everyone except Mother Goose who doesn't care about the gold - she just loves Emily for herself. But it is hard work keeping Emily out of the clutches of villain Sir Willoughby Wily and his lackeys Dim and Sim.
Then there is the fox that doesn't care about the gold either but if he gets his hands on Emily it'll be a case of hello and goose-pie. Can Mother Goose keep Emily safe and save the Earth from destruction?
Packed with a brand new cast, come and enjoy the ride of this madcap family show.
Admission is $15.40 standard and $12.80 for children 12 years and under.
