Join three of Australia's top cabaret performers on a Magical Mystery Tour through an inspiring assortment of Lennon and McCartney's iconic tunes at Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 3 September at 8pm. Get Back - The Lennon & McCartney Songbook is a celebration of some of finest pop songs ever written, many of them penned during the 1960s global phenomena generated by their extraordinary band The Beatles. Fancy singing along with the na-na-na-na bit in Hey Jude? Wanna give peace a chance? Ever listened to Abbey Road and thought “Hey, those guys were actually quite good!”? Then this is the show for you! There’s something for everyone in The Great Liverpudlian Songbook – and this multi-award winning cabaret trio serve it up it with their trademark offbeat humour and a healthy dose of unique three-part harmonies! The trio features Melissa Langton, Mark Jones and Libby O'Donovan. Performing with zest, irreverence and loads of vocal power, Melissa's versatility as an entertainer is highlighted by her unique performances in cabaret, musical theatre and concerts around the nation. She has performed several of her own cabaret shows alongside her husband and accomplished Musical Director, Actor, Composer and Pianist Mark Jones. Libby - who has twice before performed in touring shows at the Don - has been hailed by the Sydney Morning Herald as "a powerful, sassy performer". She has toured extensively in cabaret and jazz shows including visits to several major festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe, Sydney Spring Festival and Perth International Arts Festival, to name a few.
