Set in the Wild West town of Slimy Gulch, the ruthless gunslinger, Wild Gil Hiccup has finally been apprehended, and is on trial for the murder of 303 men. Note: I refrain from sayin he’s on trial for the brutal murder of 303 men, cos I’m led to believe by those in the know that shootin a bullet between the eyes is quite a humane way of killin a man! All the same, slaughter is slaughter, but you might want to take it into account that, if Wild Gil did indeed slaughter those cowpokes, then at least he did it in a humane way. If Wild Gil is found guilty, then he will hang for his crimes. The question is though, is the man on trial the real Wild Gil? His lawyer Mr Jesse Janes insists that he isn’t, but can he prove it so? Likewise, can the lawyer for the prosecution, Mr Hyatt Twerp convince the jury that the man on trial is indeed the real Wild Gil? Will the various witnesses provide vital clues as to the identity of the man on trial, and indeed, his guilt? To find out, I guess ya’ll have to join us at the hearing! Now let me tell yer folks, this is shapin up to be a one of a kind courthouse drama, and a must see for lovers of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and the other heroes of the Wild West. I think it’s gonna be good, I think at times it’s gonna be bad, and at times, I’m positive that it’s gonna be goddam ugly, but if it ain’t the funniest western spoof you've ever witnessed, then I guess ya'll must be holding onto your old copy of 'Blazing Saddles.' The Phoenix Theatre invites ya'll to come down and take your place with the jury. Now, I wouldn't miss out on the opportunity if I were you, cos there ain't too often one gets chance to have a say in wether a man dies by the rope, so bring along your friends and your family (so long as they ain’t rednecks), and join us at the trial. Rock Goodson Chief Editor Slimy Gulch Express The trial dates are... 8PM Sept 2/3/9/10/16/17 and 2PM matinees on Sun 4th and 11th 2011.
