The magical rhythms of traditional African music and dance burst forth this enigmatic cultural group who are touring Australia direct from Ghana.
The ensemble's uplifting live show blends vibrant dancers with lively musicians, who use an array of traditional instruments including talking drums, djembe, kpanlog, box drum, bells and shakers.
Master drummer Tuzo formed The Salaka Ensemble in the mid 1990s to share Ghana's music and dance traditions with younger generations and to preserve the nation's musical heritage.
The group's prominence at home includes peformances for the nation's president and leading Ghana's 50th aniiversary celebrations of independence at Black Star Square in the capital Accra.
