Written and performed by Monica Main Directed by Helen Doig Germs: in your phone, at the ATM, behind your knees, and when you sneeze. In you, on you and up you: the good, the bad and the ugly … turning many of us into obsessive germinators. A Germ of an Idea: a dirty comedy by Monica Main is a non-linear, highly informative and deeply silly performance exploring our relationship with germs - the historical, hysterical, medical and incredible. Following the show’s premiere at the 2010 Sydney Fringe Festival, Main returns home to present her humorous and unique take on the world around us - from the macro to the micro - utilising comedy, improvisation, multimedia, man-made fibres, and the odd bit of drag. No pity. No fear. No way! Main is The Germinator. “The characters – appealingly domineering and nutty about eradicating germs – are polished with witty lines.” - Sydney Morning Herald “Most impressive here is Main’s transformation – she’s unrecognisable and pitched perfectly … her delivery was confident and amusing… the show rewards a pun-loving audience so much” - Drum Media
