This production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet provides a new vampiric twist on an old tale.
The Montagues, an ancient Vampire clan proud with a rich history, have called Verona home for hundreds of years. Romeo, the youngest of the family has fallen in love with the wild and insatiable Rosaline, an unrequited love that is tearing him apart much to the dismay of his cousin, Benvolia and best friend Mercutio.
The Capulets, a family of Vampire hunters, have established themselves in Verona to declare war on the Vampire. Over the years, blood has been shed and lives have been lost on both sides. Trained from birth to rid the world of night stalkers, the only daughter of the Capulets, Juliet, is a militant vampire slayer alongside her cousin Tybalt. The family trainer Paris, enamoured with Juliet, asks for her hand in marriage, a match made in the heavens. A celebration is called.
The Governing Prince Escala, chief peace keeper and figure head of Verona, has decreed a truce to be called between the fueding families for the sake of all citizens in Verona. That all beings, natural and supernatural alike must work toward living in peace, under the same laws and the same governing body, represented by both Human and Vampire. It is time for mortals and Vampire to intergrate and become productive members of society.
A family of vampire hunters no longer allowed to slay A clan of vampires no longer able to act by instinct. And then one night at one party, two sworn enemies happen to meet...and fall in love.
But hundreds of years of bloodshed is hard to forgive...
The murder of loved ones is hard to forget...
And the new law of Verona may not be as strong as the law of family.
