SNOW QUEEN Fairy tales and fanciful stories that are intended to entertain have existed since ancient times. For centuries in many cultures, stories involving supernatural forces and faraway places were passed down from older generations to the young. The Snow Queen is one of Hans Christian Anderson’s best loved fairy tales, adapted by Cherly Kenny and Directed by Karen Francis, Snow Queen will take all who watch on a magical journey. Nikkita Dixon plays Gerda, in search of her friend Kai (Chris Barnett) who has disappeared. As she follows her heart to find him she discovers an amazing array of strange people and talking animals. Lisa Wilkinson plays The Garden Woman, a strange yet endearing person that takes care of all the flowers, Diana Oliver plays The Snow Queen, cold and calculating and Tate Bennett plays The Sorcerer, the evil being that sends the magic mirror to bring down humanity. Snow Queen commences in Mandurah on 7th January and moves to Kwinana for the last weekend (21st and 22nd January) Tickets available from the Mandurah Library: 95503650 Koorliny Arts Centre: 94390290
