The Australian Impro Collective & Spontaneous Insanity presents IMPRO UNWRAPPED

Bought something that might make a nice gift? Something shiny and new? Why not bring it to a show? Make it feel special. See your gift star in an improvised comedy with some of Australia’s top improvisers! You laugh. Then your gift goes to the St Vincent de Paul Society and everyone feels special! The Subiaco Arts Centre, Spontaneous Insanity and The Australian Impro Collec...tive are calling on the goodwill of Perth theatre audiences this Christmas! They need you and your stage presents for the national production, Impro Unwrapped in aid of the St Vincent de Paul Society’s 2010 Christmas Appeal. So how does it work? You bring a wrapped Christmas gift to the show and place it under the on-stage tree. We will randomly select and unwrap gifts during the show. The unwrapped gifts will be the inspiration for our Christmas stories and songs all made up on the spot, without a script, live before your very eyes! At the end of the night, gifts will be re-wrapped and donated to the fine folk at Vinnies to pass on to those less fortunate this Christmas. Improvisers from Perth (Spontaneous Insanity), Sydney (Impro Australia), Melbourne (Impro Melbourne), and Canberra (Impro ACT), have united to form the Australian Impro Collective. The Collective’s festive improvised show, Impro Unwrapped is the brainchild of renowned improvisers Glenn Hall and Cale Bain (Sydney), and will be performed by each of the groups in their own states, throughout December. In Perth, Impro Unwrapped will be produced by Spontaneous Insanity, the team that brought you box-office hits and critically acclaimed improvised shows, IN A NEW YORK MINUTE and Theatresports™. Directed and hosted by actor, part-time Santa and Theatresports National and State Champion, Glenn Hall, the completely improvised show will also feature the Christmas cheer of a stellar impro cast including: Nichola Renton-Weir, Shane Adamczak, Libby Hammer, Craig Williams, Louisa Fitzhardinge, Courtney Sage Hart, Rhoda Lopez, Ric Cairns, Brianna Williams, Emmet Nichols, Sarah Knight, Lee Sheppard, Mel Bennett, Paul Calligan, Jayde Clark, Vidya Rajan and Jo Alexander – plus live improvising musicians.
