The world famous gothic horror story adapted from the novel by David Campton and directed by Peter Kirkwood & Nicola Bond.
Consumed by the desire to discover the secret of life, Victor Frankenstein (Chris Thomas) dedicates his time to creating the "perfect" human, ignoring all around him, including his fiancé, Elizabeth (Olivia Darby) and his friend, Henri Clerval (Luke Dixon). Then, one climactic night, in the secrecy of his lab, his creation is brought to life. However, when he looks upon the monstrosity that he has created he is horrified and flees, leaving the Creature (Peter Nettleton) to fend for itself. Several days later a child is found strangled and FrankensteinÂ’s maid, Justine (Sherillee Walsh) is falsely accused. Racked by guilt that his creature is responsible, Frankenstein grows increasingly despondent.
Supported by Kate Moulder as Madam Couper and Tim Prosser as Clerval Senior, this multilayered presentation of “Frankenstein” is more than just a horror story. It’s a moralistic tale about the defiance of God, interference with nature, the rejection of a child’s love by a parent and the loss of trust.
