Indulge your musical tastes and passions – choose from classical, jazz, world and contemporary Among the many Highlights you can see and hear: Jazz • One of Australia’s pre eminent jazz artists, Vince Jones performs with Sam Keevers and Monash jazz musicians • Vertuoso pandeira performer Roberta Valente comes to Monash University as a guest artist performing well known Brazilian compositions with Monash students • The much loved Monash Stage Band keeps the afternoon swinging with both standard/traditional and contemporary repertoire Orchestra • Acclaimed guitarists Slava Grigoryan and Leonard Grigoryan perform concerti by Handel and Vivaldi with the Monash Academy Orchestra under guest conductor Benjamin Northey Chamber and Instrumental • Internationally acclaimed Australian pianist Michael Kieran Harvey performs sonatas by Carl Vine and Franz Liszt • Performances of chamber music by Moeran, Finzi, Villa-Lobos, Franck and Mozart Choral and Vocal • Monash Viva Voce choir perform the beautiful Faure Requiem with organist Calvin Bowman and baritone Michael Leighton Jones directed by Faye Dumont • Baritone Michael Leighton Jones performs Vaughan William’s Songs of Travel with pianist Janis Cook Family Concerts • Paul Williams and The Elastic Band return by popular demand • Prokoviev’s timeless Peter and the Wolf with Peter Oyston as narrator • Christmas in September with the musical story 'A Snowman for Felix' by Kate Lawson Gould and featuring Philip Gould and the entire Gould family!
