Now in its sixth year, Storm the Stage entrants will gain valuable practical experience as they are led through the heats and semi-finals, and most importantly will make lasting friendships with their peers.
Twenty candidates will achieve selection to the finals where they will perform at the University of WA’s intimate Octagon Theatre on December 2. Prizes of up to $10,000 will be awarded including workshops on performance and the theatre industry. Finalists will be accommodated in Perth at a tertiary college.
With an emphasis on solo performances and a ‘back to theatre’ approach young people will receive guidance and feedback from professionals in theatre within a nurturing environment, including workshops conducted by Black Swan Theatre for the national finalists.
