Diana’s old boss has arrived for a visit long after their professional –and private – association ended. Time has taken its toll, however; he’s much diminished and it soon becomes evident he’s in early stages of dementia. Now their roles are reversed; he is dependent upon her and that frightens Diana; “.....there, but for the grace of gods....” Without the help of good friends how will she cope?
"Dimensions" is the first play in the Old Fart’s Trilogy with “Loaning Leon’s Atom” and “Terminal Velocity” completing the triptych.
Quote from Genesians Theatre (Sydney) Newsletter following a reading of “Dimensions”, August 2009.
“.....As they cope with Jeffrey’s onset and development of dementia, the play traces the different paths of Diana’s and Jeffrey’s acknowledgement, understanding and acceptance of the disease.........
......The evening presented this medical condition in a realistic manner showing the despair, frustration and destruction this age related condition causes. Ian McGrath’s script also offered many lighter moments of wit and comedy that helped to lift the mood of this sombre topic.”
The program commences at 1.00pm with a lunch of home made soup and a crusty roll.
The reading of Dimensions commences at 2.00pm.
The reading is a script in hand performance directed by Tony Moore and will feature Roger Newcombe, Joanna Webb and Paula Carter.
Ticket Price is a mere $12.00
