Mrs McCleavy’s funeral just might have gone off smoothly if her ex-nurse had not been making a play for the recently widowed husband, or if her son and his friend had not just carried out a bank robbery – hiding the loot in Mrs McCleavy’s coffin and locking the corpse in a handy wardrobe – or even perhaps if the local police inspector had not turned up on the track of the money, disguised as an official of the London Water Board.
If death, mass murder, seduction and armed robbery seem to you the stuff of farce – you’ll love LOOT by Joe Orton, “the Oscar Wilde of the Welfare State.”
Brought to you by Class Act Theatre who produced the critically acclaimed A DAY IN THE DEATH OF JOE EGG last year:
"With director Stephen Lee at the helm, Class Act theatre has turned out one of its finest productions."
"Affecting, but never cloying, thought-provoking but never preachy, this was truly a class act."
(West Australian newspaper - Mon 8 June 2009. Review by Ali Talbut.)
Be shocked into laughter once again!
