Confusions is a set of five interlinked one act plays intended for a minimum cast of 3 men and
2 women. Each play deals with human eccentricities & the human dilemma of loneliness.
Act One Theatre have elected to produce three of these delightful little plays for their next production. Play 1 deals with a mother unable to escape from baby talk. Play 2 a very funny
dinner encounter, and Play 3 a disastrous village fete.
Play 1: Mother Figure
Lucy is so wrapped up in her role as a Mother to her three children that she is unable
to relate to the world outside her home. Rosemary & Terry her next door neighbours
are worried that they haven't seen her for a while and pop in to check that she is
alright. They are treated like children by Lucy.
Play 2: Between Mouthfuls
Two couples are dining at an hotel. The dialogue is linked by the waiter who glides between
the two tables while the couples become increasingly argumentative.
Play 3: Gosforth's Fete
A village fete has been organised, or maybe 'disorganised' Everything goes wrong
from the weather to the tap on the tea urn getting on the 'ON' position with
disastrous results.
