Scrooge Comes Centre Stage 19 November to 5 December with Starlight Theatre Co-op in Spring Hill.
“Out upon Merry Christmas!” cries Scrooge the tight-fisted, grinding, squeezing wrenching, grasping, scraping miser who hates Christmas. Dickens uses warm, funny and fierce characters from Scrooges past, present and future and a host of ghosts to give Scrooge an agonizing look at what he has made of his life and what others have made of theirs.
This quirky, fun adaptation from Neil Barlett is written ‘in many scenes and several Songs’. It retains Dickens beautiful descriptive language for all our favourite characters from this famous novel. Singing clerks, jolly Gentlemen, Fred - Scrooges’ nephew, a bustling Mrs Cratchit, Marley’s Ghost, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future and of course Tiny Tim are just some of the characters that take us on a lighthearted, spooky & inspiring journey of transformation and the celebration of life.
Adapted for stage by Neil Barlett, A Christmas Carol features David Knijnenburg as Scrooge plus Gary McEwen, Andrea Becker, Chris Vaag,Pip Loth, Carolyn Wagner, Craig Wood and Nick Hollamby. Directed by Jenny Munns.
