DUST off the flared pants, pull out the platform shoes and get ready to “burn baby burn” – tickets to Stage Left Theatre Troupe’s ‘theatre in the bush’ night of nights are now on sale!
Following the huge success of “Pirates of Penzance”, last year’s award-winning dinner and show under the stars, the Troupe are at it again this year, with feel-good production “Disco Inferno” featuring the songs and fashions of the 1970’s.
Directors Lisa van Oyen and Kevin Blair are working intensively with their cast, production team, vocal coach, choreographer and designers to pull together another amazing night of entertainment, kicking off the first of five performances on Saturday, October 24, at Hampton Hill Station.
The night’s entertainment is an overall experience, with guests arriving at 6.30pm for drinks and pre-show entertainment at Hampton Hill Station, then being seated for a gourmet meal “under the stars”. At 8pm, the cast take to the purpose-built outdoor stage with “Disco Inferno”, singing, dancing and grooving their way through an action-packed storyline. The added bonus this year is that all the 70’s hit songs will be played by a live band, with musical direction by Gillian Tom and Phil van Oyen.
“Disco Inferno” is set in the summer of 1976 where the hits and fashions inside the disco are as hot as the temperatures outside. Jack is about to celebrate his 21st birthday and it becomes a night he will never forget when he makes a Faustian pact with a mysterious femme fatale who promises him fame, fortune and his wildest fantasies as he achieves international success. Follow Jack, his girlfriend Jane and their friends as they embark on a rollercoaster ride where success comes at a price.
Featuring comedy, outlandish costumes, fantastic characters and an electrifying score of hits from an unforgettable era of glitter, flares and platform shoes, 'Disco Inferno' is a high energy musical guaranteed to warm hearts, get feet tapping and audiences leaving with a daft grin of pleasure and the fondest memories of a sensational era.
Tickets are on sale now at Kalgoorlie Trophy & Engraving, 118 Hannan Street, Kalgoorlie. There are two ticketing options – dinner, drinks and the show only; or all of those plus an overnight stay at Hampton Hill Station with breakfast cooked for you in the morning by the show’s cast and crew. Full details about the production are available by emailing stageleft@wowkal.com or phoning Lisa van Oyen on 0439 091 391.
The five performance dates are: October 24, 30 and 31 – and November 6 and 7.
