In the not-too-distant future, all of humanity's problems are solvable - disease, hunger and depression are all simply questions that are fed into the ADRIAN supercomputer, a digital saviour built into the Summit research installation, located at the last neutral landmass known to man - Marie Byrd Land, Antarctica. Over the Christmas holidays, ADRIAN lies dormant, maintained by a skeleton crew of young researchers and staff who take the chance to unwind and ponder their futures, some uncertain, all hopeful. Then, the unthinkable happens. Now, these eight young people know something they shouldn't, and the enormity of their secret could bury them. Isolated, and with nothing less than the future of civilisation itself at stake, they discover that logic, friendship, and even love may be futile in the face of the truths that lie just outside the scope of human knowledge. TOWER TO THE SUN is an original UDS play written by James Marzec (Catastrophe and Cold Tea, Greenwicks, 2008's Finley award winning Bullet Betty Vareska) and will premiere NEXT WEEK at the Dolphin Theatre, for a limited engagement.
