Britain’s most hated woman is dead, and Constable Billy Tyler has been called in to guard the notorious child-killer’s body.
During his lonely
“graveyard” shift, in the eerie silence of the hospital morgue, the dead
woman’s presence begins to assert itself, rousing Billy’s own demons.
As the night wears on, Billy’s troubles and anxieties acquire a new unexpected
significance, forcing him to consider whether we are all just one step away
from being monsters.
This is the first stage adaptation of award-winning UK author Rupert Thomson’s work,
based on his novel Death of a Murderer (short-listed, 2007 Whitbread Book of
the Year).
The play takes an intimate look at an extraordinary moment in crime history,
and the inner workings of the human soul.
“If he was really in that house, do you honestly think he would have got out
again?
