Strictly Murder

MATES Theatre Society encourages you to wrap yourself in a rich, cultural tapestry as the group continues to take bookings for their current production of the Brian Clemens’ thriller Strictly Murder.

Despite many household budgets being pulled just a little tighter, MATES Theatre Society take this opportunity to make it very clear that patrons can still enjoy a complete evening’s entertainment as our guests for under $30.

Our production is Strictly Murder, it is set in France, the year is 1939 and the story takes place under the darkening cloud of the looming war; encompassing lies, subterfuge and murder audiences will be taken on a rollercoaster ride of bluff and double-bluff.

Making his debut as a MATES’ director, and bringing over ten years of stage experience to the director’s chair, Mark Harrison has cast local actors Diarmuid Cronin and Mekila Lammas as his main characters Peter and Suzy; they are a British couple who live in idyllic isolation in the French rural town of Provence.

As the dark wheel of evil lumbers its way across Europe the affect of these advances will be felt close to home by Peter and Suzy, the arrival of a detective pries open a little further a dark and disturbing chapter of Peter’s life and a dark secret shared between Peter and the couple’s neighbour Josef will resurface.

Suzy’s life, too, is thrown into the fires of turmoil as she struggles with the unthinkable answer to the fearful question that the man who shares her life could be a ruthless killer on the run.

Throughout the nineteen year history of MATES Theatre Society many patrons have shared the affordable cultural experience the group offers; however for this production our valued patrons will notice something a little different – for the first time in over ten years MATES have increased their prices.
