Bunbury beats Broadway, with the Australian premier of Blackbeard The Musical! Blackbeard The Musical is an exciting new show by composer Rob Gardner, the ariZoni Award winning writer of Twelve Princesses. The show tells the story of Edward Teach - better known as Blackbeard - who used his fearsome façade to capture and plunder his way into legendary status. The action surrounds the pirate’s famously brazen blockade of Charleston Harbour. In September 2008, Blackbeard The Musical completed its world premiere production at the prestigious Herberger Theatre Centre in Phoenix. After being extremely well received it is now aimed for Broadway - this is your chance to see it in Bunbury first! Blackbeard The Musical is the 2009 community co-production between Bunbury Musical Comedy Group Inc and the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.
