LiÂ’l Abner the legendary comic strip created by Al Capp was published from 1934 to 1977, and read by 60 million people daily! Now this famous cartoon is to be transferred from the page onto the stage, in a loads-of-fun musical.
Join the citizens of the hillbilly town of Dogpatch who find their simple lives thrown into turmoil when their town is deemed the most useless community in the USA, and therefore the ideal place for an atomic bomb test site! But the good folk of Dogpatch are not going to take this one lying down, and rally to prove that their home is a ‘necessary’ place after all. Along the way we meet L’il Abner, his sweet long-suffering girlfriend Daisy Mae, a scheming millionaire and a whole crowd of colourful characters who ensure this is a fast moving, never-a-dull-moment kind of show.
Crammed with satire, gentle humour and a host of bright, catchy tunes LiÂ’l Abner is not to be missed.
