The Leaks are a very ugly, unpleasant British family living out a low existence in a backwards Manchester cottage. In between swearing at each other, drinking horrendous amounts of alcohol and cheating on their welfare payments by pretending that a life-sized dummy is their invalid grandfather, there isn't too much to celebrate - that is, before Gary Leak attempts to create a swimming pool in his basement and accidentally unearths a priceless and possibly extraterrestrial metal compound. Suddenly, the Leaks are the focus of a worldwide media circus, and their priceless treasure is being hunted by several interested parties. Some are good, some are evil, and most of them are utterly insane. Tension mounts as desperation sets in, and the tough questions must be asked: Is Vicky Leak cheating on Hugo with the milkman? Why does Hugo keep calling his daughter "luggage"? And will the Leaks manage to sell the metal for a fortune before its terrible secret is revealed? James Marzec presents a new UDS play in which the heroes are awful, the villains are familiar, and the only sympathetic character is a lump of rock.
